Tsunami 'Core Group' of Relief Nations Disbanded
JAKARTA (Reuters) - An effort by the United States, Japan, India and Australia to coordinate tsunami relief will be disbanded and folded into the broader U.N.-led operations, Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) said on Thursday.

The group's creation was announced by President Bush (news - web sites) just eight days ago as he tried to dispel criticism that the initial U.S. response to the catastrophe was slow. Some analysts saw it as an effort to appear engaged.

6. BBC
carried this as a main headline. Great news. Good to see that reality is sinking in because the rest of the globe was very, very unhappy about the US attempt to dominate proceedings.

8. But I think he got "credit" for dominating proceedings
by forming his "coalition", even though it was disbanded a week later. Instead of the American public seeing that what he did was poor judgment, they will likely see that he formed the coalition, "took charge" (4 days after it happened, he finally spoke), never seeing that it was disbanded.

There are many decent Americans who are actively involved in several of the global NGOs for disasters like these. They were really upset about that coalition rubbish. There are also millions of well-thinking Americans who are just as uncomfortable with the thought of American domination re the tsunami.

The disbanding of the coalition is victory for the planet and a serious climb down by the bullies. I really enjoy listening to the very humane responses from NGO people during interviews on MSM. It's almost comical the way they have embarrassed the 'impression managers' on the networks. In less than a week, I've seen network peeps climb down big time.

Now if only MSM and the vultures would stop pushing this idea of encouraging the adoption of these poor Asian children. It is a lousy idea.

I actually think the sheer weight of this very human crisis and the unbelievable global response will force many 'fence sitters' to ask questions about that other very human crisis in Iraq. The 24/7 coverage of the crisis merely exposes MSM for ignoring a very similar man-made crisis in Iraq. They have set themselves up for the attacks re double standards which will soon start.
edit - gr, etc.

3. Core Group was a "knee-jerk reaction" just as the
article on Yahoo states.

Bush was anxious to make it appear that he was "doing something" after it was disclosed that the zero-head was off walking, biking, thinking and clearing brush on his ranch while hundreds of thousands were dead or suffering.

I think it was also and intentional "swipe" at the U.N.which the GOP apparently despises.

13. The word "Ilk" reminds me of "Elk" and thus Dick Cheney...
'cause he loves to shoot anything that can't answer back.
