Bushes Welcome New Puppy to White House
Election fraud?
Soldiers blown up?
Torturer to become Attorney-General?

Naw.

THIS is ABC News!

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=390304

<snip>

Jan 6, 2005 — WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush and his wife, Laura, got a new pet on Thursday, a Scottish terrier puppy named Miss Beazley.

The puppy, a gift to the first lady from the president for her 58th birthday in November, was born on Oct. 28. The puppy joins the Bushes' other two pets: Barney, another Scottish terrier, and a black cat named India.

Miss Beazley, named after a dinosaur in a popular children's book, is the daughter of Barney's half-brother.

The 10-week-old puppy, which was introduced to the press corps on the South Lawn of the White House, proved to be camera shy, opting to run behind a bush rather than pose for a picture.

3. At least Barney will have someone he can stand.
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 07:02 PM by daleo
It looks to me like he hates the chimp.

The puppy will share Barney's pain.

On edit - I kind of feel sorry for Blair though.

How long before this pooch gets dropped on its head?

If I were Laura, I'd go with a parakeet instead.

9. When will they start adopting shelter animals?
Obsessed with "pure" blood lines. What a shame. Ultimately one puppy out there won't be so lucky.

40. I fully agree
and I was thinking as I viewed this on tv what a tremendous service Bitch Bush could do for shelter animals by adopting one and publicizing the need to adopt rather than breeding or buying. Such a shame.

17. Oh, come now, their pets are the best thing about them
I for one, will not criticize a pet dog. I also liked when Laura's Xmas theme was White House Pets a few years ago.

I agree it's not top news, but on the other hand, anyone adopting a puppy is a good thing.

I totally agree with the fact that they should adopt a shelter dog, though.

49. Yes.
That video was so damned pointless and unfunny.

What pissed me off about that the most was the bit where the guy was chewing out Andy Card about the cost of tree tinsel. Don't know who this guy was -- wasn't Unka Karl.

It will be interesting to hear how well Barney takes to the new addition. Bush might want to watch where he sits down. Spite shits may be a'comin'.
