Privations weigh down Iraqi housewives
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/51858309-F36C-4F11-8210-84B8A57A1887.htm

The lives of Iraqi housewives have not got any easier since the US invasion in March 2003 and their hopes for better days are fading with every passing day.

Insecurity, unemployment, a lack of electricity and drinking water, as well as a shortage of fuel are among the many facts of daily life, some Baghdad women say.

The shortage of fuel has made winter especially tougher on families. Room heating and hot water are essential in temperatures that sometimes reach zero.

"We get our electricity service for one hour every 10 hours; if we want more than that we have to pay for private generators. Generator owners cheat us, bully us and use us, but we have to deal with them.

"It is the only way to get electricity to heat the house and get hot water in the bathrooms. It is very cold here. Children must have warm water and a warm indoor environment," Ghada Qahtan, a 38-year-old former translator, said.

2. Privatization
Cheap nationalized oil is just one of the things the Busho Nazis have stolen from the Iraqis. The sales of one of their nationalized products (oil) subsidized their local consumption - gasoline cost Iraqis about 10 cents a gallon. Now, it is a high priced commodity for them.

This type of privatization of all of their infrastructure is what Iraqis are against.

Complete privatization is the goal of the Bushco Nazis, here and there.

3. More from the same article.....
"Nearly all available jobs are connected somehow with the Americans, and you live under a constant threat. I have received many threats from the Iraqi resistance in the past year: leave work or get killed."

hours to fill up at a petrol station

7. There's free enterprise for you! Just add a little Vito Corleone to the
management side of things.
