Sen. McCain Does Jury Duty in Phoenix (wasn't picked)
PHOENIX -- Call him Citizen McCain. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., spent Thursday in Phoenix Municipal Court awaiting possible jury duty and fielding questions from other potential jurors. Asked what he was doing there, he responded, "I'm a citizen."

His congressional schedule kept him from serving jury duty until this week.

"Since a lot of citizens inconvenience themselves to serve, there's no reason for me not to inconvenience myself. You meet nice people, too," he said.

1. Who cares what McCain does? He is a loser in the same order
as Colin Powell.

5. I care if he is nominated for prez. by the GOP in 2008
'cuz it will be hopeless for the Dems if they do.

2. He has to start working on his image
to prepare for the backlash he will face for supporting Commander Codpiece, when his approval sinks even lower.

3. He wasn't voting yesterday!
Jury duty is way more important than voting to preserve democracy.

4. don't they usually keep well known types off the jury
so they can try to avoid the person using their fame to influence others ?

6. no offense meant, but...
....I wonder if we should try to avoid focusing on political gossip and personality cult stuff and concentrate on getting out a certain message to the primary voters of IA and NH and the general election voters of OH, PA, WI, MI, and IA in preparation for 2008.
THat certain message would be something along the lines of: we own this country. We on the economic left have a plan to improve the quality of life for all Americans by taxing the income and wealth of the rich and shielding American workers from competition with low wage countries. We have a plan to deliver universal healthcare.

I think we should be figuring out how to deliver that message to the voters of those above named states, instead of worrying about what some egotistical, opportunistic politician is up to today.

No offense.

9. Once upon a time McCain came really close to having a jury picked
for HIS trial. Too bad they let him skate.

10. At one time I kinda liked McCain but after seeing him kissing Bush's ass
during the past year I have NO respect for him. He and Jeb will be the Republican's pick in 2008 (keep and eye on those 2 in the next 4 yrs)

15. I always liked John McCain
and was totally baffled at his support of George Bush*, since he has attacked his administration more vigorously than the Democrats. And within good reason, after the Bush* "dirty tricks" during the 2000 campaign. I just can't figure him out.

And another kick for Khephra!:kick:

16. I can think of few people who would be worse to have
on any jury than this quirky, opinionated member of The Ruling Class--regardless of which side of a case I were on.

Where's that pic of him embracing his master?
