Bush's Approval Rating Falls in AP Poll
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) is entering his second term with the lowest approval ratings of any recent two-term president, even as he talks about an ambitious agenda of change, an Associated Press poll finds.

Congress is viewed even more negatively — a troubling sign for Bush and Congress as they tackle such proposals as creating private accounts for those in the Social Security (news - web sites) system, overhauling the federal tax code and limiting lawsuit damages.

Bush's approval rating is at 49 percent in the AP poll with 49 percent disapproving among all of those polled. His job approval is in the high 40s or low 50s in several other recent polls — as low as any job approval rating for a re-elected president at the start of the second term in more than 50 years.

Presidents Reagan and Clinton had job approval ratings near six in 10 just before their inauguration for a second term, according to Gallup polls.

reflecting the true poll numbers because they want to make sure his head doesn't swell too much and explode, causing global conditions for another seismic disaster.

The only difference was that Kerry never contested it.

And here the innocent lay..........defenseless.

2. Bush is easily the most hated man alive on the planet.
Sooner or later he will be stopped. But, it's gonna cost a lot in terms of lives, money and environment. You do recall that Einstein predicted that WW IV will be fought with stones and bow and arrows.
Think about that.

9. There is no way he is even that popular...
They pad the polls for Shrub, and they have padded the polls for Shrub all the way back to the 2000 election that Gore was not even suppose to get close to winning. Shrub's numbers must really be in the tank if they have him at 49%.

I lifted the photo from diamond14's thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=1131421

...apparently Jeb left Colin Powell by himself in Tsunami Town so he could fly home and be a part of this incredibly inspirational portrait.

This family doesn't care, doesn't have a clue, or both.

54. Where's Goya when you need him?
Goya painted an insulting portrait of the Spanish Royal Family that made them look like the corrupt buffoons they then were (200 years ago). Instead of being offended, the oblivious and clueless family were greatly honored and Goya earned more commissions and honors for lampooning them. Your picture of "The Family" is ripe for a Goya type treatment.

It makes me so darn mad! He voted for shrub and now claims it wasn't that he thought Bush was so great, it was that he thought Kerry would be worse. 46. When Bush starts forcing Reservists to do multiple two years tours of Iraq
making the RWers, esp. those in the military, nervous, those who voted for Kerry ought to keep quiet, remain calm and avoid all forms of protest, providing a void for the neocons to fill when their butts are put on the frontline not once, not twice, but "multiple" times, for 24 straight unaccompanied months.

In other words, for life.

Bush's legacy will be to singlehandedly make extinct the 50 year wedding anniversary. Hell, most Americans won't even see their fourth.
