Women's Groups Protest Schwarzenegger
Washington Post

When he was simply Arnold Schwarzenegger, the body builder/box-office-magnet movie star/husband of a Kennedy, the stories of his groping and grabbing at female body parts were barely noticed magazine filler.

But as the front-running Republican candidate in the recall to replace the governor of the largest state in the nation, the gossip about what Schwarzenegger may or may not have said or done sexually to his co-stars and interviewers and other assorted women is beginning to get attention. ---

In total, the Schwarzenegger protesters barely numbered a hundred. But they could augur trouble ahead if their protests begin to catch on and reach the ears and minds of voters. Schwarzenegger is already suffering a gender gap in his support, with the Field Poll showing him trailing Democrat Cruz M. Bustamante by 13 points among women. The latest Los Angeles Times poll shows that 58 percent of likely male voters view Schwarzenegger favorably, compared with 45 percent of likely female voters.

Karen Pomer, a main organizer of today's women's protest, said she intends to continue to plan protests at large, well-publicized events such as the GOP convention until voters become fully aware of the stories that have been circulating around Hollywood for years. ---

2. PBS just showed an Arnold interview re: Tony Quinn.
He was talking about buying one of Quinn's paintings. How most art, you buy it, it's decorative, but every one of Tony's paintings is painted for a specific purpose and has a specific meaning.

Dear God, Arnold's an idiot.

3. Only 13 points behind among women?
Time is running out. The message needs to get out to likely female voters exactly what arnold thinks of them.

4. Arnold: the fun of "burying a woman's face in a toilet bowl," har har!
Women's groups have also pointed to Schwarzenegger's comments in the July 11 Entertainment Weekly in which he relished a scene in "Terminator 3": "How many times do you get away with this -- to take a woman, grab her upside down, and bury her face in a toilet bowl?"

How I did enjoy seeing Arnold plastered with egg the other day.

5. good for the Washington Post
you didn't read this in the LA Times.

I hope CodePink and Karen Pomer are interviewed
various places to alert voters to Arnold's "loose
sexual boundaries" and lies.

6. Where's the outrage?

Does Arnold have to diddle little kids to get
any press coverage on this behavior?

9. Are these the same groups that protested the (alleged) Clinton gropings?
The names sound familiar.

12. I don't know when Oprah's show comes on Monday
Edited on Mon Sep-15-03 04:47 AM by JudiLyn
but if she respects the communication she has gotten from Code Pink, she may have some interesting questions on her LIVE program with Arnold as her guest:

(snip) As part of their effort, CodePink and other women's groups participating in the protests against Schwarzenegger, including the Feminist Majority Foundation, were organizing a letter-writing campaign urging Oprah Winfrey to ask Schwarzenegger direct questions about his alleged comments and behavior when he appears live on her season-opening show Monday. (snip)

Surely she's not going to side-step this important chance to do the right thing for truth-starved, media-deceived Californians.
