Sweden says No to euro

Update: BBC World cites FINAL figures from Swedish television: 56.5% no, 41.4% yes.

Sweden has voted decisively to reject the euro in a referendum held days after the killing of Foreign Minister Anna Lindh.

With results in from 80% of districts the No-side has 57% against 41% for the Yes-side.

Correspondents say the figures are unlikely to change much as the figures from the final districts come in.

The WP is getting really good and miss-predicting outcomes....the last doozy being the desirability of conquering Iraq to steal their oil.

5. That was because of a misleading headline
"Sweden Votes to Adopt Euro" headed the article which announced that today was the day for voting on the issue.
