White House Distributes Bush Op-Ed
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-4727197,00.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a newspaper opinion piece signed by President Bush and offered to newspapers around the globe, a White House eager to lessen anti-American sentiment in the Muslim world is trumpeting U.S. efforts to help tsunami victims in the Indian Ocean region.
``Americans join those across the globe in mourning the tens of thousands of lives, many of them children, who were lost in the recent violent tsunamis from Thailand to the Horn of Africa,'' Bush writes in the op-ed distributed by the State Department starting last Saturday.
After a sluggish start in the days immediately after the earthquake and tsunami struck 12 countries on Dec. 26, Bush pushed the U.S. response into high gear.

Looks like they’re cutting out the middleman and going direct with their propaganda….wonder if they had to give each paper $100 to print it….

4. Yup. The neoCONimperialists' so-called "war of ideas" has been pegged.
Your "war of ideas" is really covert propaganda to serve YOUR interests,...and EVERYONE is getting it.

Ya' can fool some of the people all the time, most of the people some of the time, but NOT all the people all of the time.

When you neoCONimperialists actually embrace the concepts of democracy, you'll no longer be in the haven of self-absorption,...and I truly doubt that will happen until life itself or humanity puts you in a place of humility,...and even then, I doubt you will ever choose to be humble over being power-mongering, rat-race advocates.

The neoCONimperialists truly represent the scum of human potential.

red states, and red ink.

Or yellow - to match that nice stripe down his back.

That did not stop the propaganda machine however. Why should Bu$h Inc.`s Fourth Reich be any different? Since they control the press just as good if not better than the Nazi`s did.

Because we all know that the bush admin. has been so wonderful toward muslims post 9/11...../sarcasm

Then we donate some money to relief work for a heavily hit disaster area, and suddenly our president goes out to BRAG about it?..(Trumpeting US efforts sure sounds like bragging to me)....

Every day i wonder how much more embarrased i can get to say that this creature is our nations "leader"... ugg

waited 3 days before speaking to the public about the disaster

and then tried to force the world to allow the US to manage the relief funds.

AND, Bush donates a measly $10,000 out of his own pocket.

Oh, and Right-wing fundies say the disaster is because God wants to punish Muslims and Jr. couldn't be bothered speaking out against such bigotry.

White House Distributes Bush Op-Ed

24. Let freedom from tsunamis reign.
Any way you look at this, it is rather graceless. But to brag about U.S. government aid when it isn't even as much as the Canadian government has given ($350 million vs $425 million, recall that Canada has only one-tenth the population of the U.S.), is just stupid.

This type of communication used to be get across in White House press briefings, which Bush didn't seem to care for.

Does Bush realize that people will *reply* to a LTTE?

30. There's no way bush* wrote that himself. Two clues...
"mourning" spelled correctly - bush* would have used "morning"

"tsunamis" spelled correctly

I know, I know, it's hard work, and I guess that's what we pay his speechwriters for.
