Jury Probes Ex-Bill Aide's 'Socks Docs' (still after Big Dog)
Anyone know if the NY Post is a "right-wing" shill on the government payroll? This article sounds like it was written by Sean Hannity!

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/38313.htm

WASHINGTON — The criminal probe into why former Bill Clinton aide Sandy Berger illegally sneaked top-secret documents out of the National Archives — possibly in his socks — has heated up and is now before a federal grand jury, The Post has learned.

The probe was touched off last spring when stunned archives staffers reported seeing Berger sneak classified documents out of a top-secret reading room in his pants and socks while vetting Clinton-era items for the commission.

Again!? Again!??? with the "socks and pants" stuff!? I thought this was debunked a long tome ago.

Anyway, I guess the "librul" media is at work again, doing anything to get ole Armstrong "payola" Williams off the radar scope.

2. Erm.
NY Post is pretty much the FOX News Channel of the newspaper world. They are owned by the same parent company, Newscorp.

It's incredible though, their entire rallying cry over this election is "get over it" and, yet, they still can't get over Bill Clinton. It really is sad.

3. Thanks for the info
I'll cross the NY Post off my list of internet news sources.

It's kind of like the whole "war on Crhistmas" thing. This "stuffing things in pants and socks" thing. Doesn't matter if it's false, doesn't matter if there is no evidence, doesn't matter if it is a crisis that doesn't exist, they just run with it because it is sexy, or controversial, and the people just eat it up.

Hey, I heard someone say that Rush Limbaugh was a pill-popping, former gay sex solicitor named Jeff Christe (sp). Oh wait... That's actually true and factual!

4. Is there any other confirmation of the veracity of this allegation?
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 09:24 AM by Just Me
Another poster indicated that the WSJ wrote all charges had been dismissed back in July.

(On edit) I wonder if the Post's sources were paid to plant this report. I wonder how far down the rabbit hole the neoCONimperialists' propaganda campaign (pys-ops) against the American people goes.

18. A google news search shows that NYPost, Newsmax and Washtimes
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 12:15 PM by Lucille
are the only news sources (cough) that are carrying this.

The WSJ article quoted archives officials as saying that no original document reviewed by Berger was missing. However; that doesn't mean that Bushco won't bring charges because what Berger did was a violation , as Berger admitted when he apologized. However, if they bring charges against him I can't imagine it will be seen as anything more than overkill--even Administration shill and Chalabi employee, James Woolsey, the former CIA director, said that he's made similar mistakes.

But never underestimate the value of red meat, especially if some really bad or embarrassing news comes out. I don't think Williams or no WMD really count. No, they'll have their shills set to flay Berger alive when they REALLY need a distraction. Perhaps this means Plame is to come to a conclusion?

7. Crmballistics, don't know if you're staying long, but here on DU
people are expected to cite sources when they make accusations such as yours. If that's too much trouble, you can always go to a conservative blog where innuendo news is acceptable.

9. Then post the site. If everything you say is going to happen as you
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 11:45 AM by The Backlash Cometh
predit it will, then someone would have printed it by now. Cite the article. With so many sources, you shouldn't have any trouble finding something.

On the other hand, if it's just a subpoena, well, the Republicans are mounting an attack on any Dem they can to distract from their own fresh troubles. I suggest you don't fall for the ploy.

19. Rupert Murdoch owns FOX and the NY Post. He is one of the folks in
charge of our nation behind the scenes. His payback comes from Bush allowing him to garner more power by expanding his corporations within America (and also probably by the spread of his own fascist beliefs).

20. Article by Deborah Orin, for paper owned by Rupert Murdoch
Think of the NY Post as FOX NEWSpaper.

Orin's a Republican/W cheerleader:
http://mediamatters.org/archives/search.html?topic=Deborah%20Orin

and Murdoch needs no further explanation.
