Explosion outside Ford City Mall, Chicago

A news bulletin was just on the TV here - An explosion was reported outside the Ford City Mall, 7600 S. Cicero Ave, Chicago.

Several injuries reported. One car reportedly upended by the blast.

Location was just outside of the Old Country Buffet restaurant.

2. Update

Police spokesman Carlos Herrera says the explosion occurred near a Pearle Vision store in the mall.

Initial reports indicated that several cars were overturned, and at least one person may have been injured. Part of the building may also have been damaged.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, and a Level 1 hazmat situation was declared.
