Police Chief Killed in Iraqi Hotspot Town
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20030915/wl_mideast_afp/iraq_us_police_fallujah

FALLUJAH, Iraq (AFP) - The police chief of Khaldiyah town, Colonel Khdayyir Ali Mukhlif, was killed when three men opened fire at his car in this hotspot town west of Baghdad.

"Around 2:00 pm (1000 GMT) three unknown assailants opened fire on the car in which the police chief was coming back to Khaldiyah from Fallujah," Lieutenant Colonel Jalal Sabri, in charge of police patrols in Fallujah, told AFP on Monday.

--snip--

It's going to be very difficult if not impossible to train a police force in Iraq. Does anything more need to be said?

1. You've got that right
It's probably the most dangerous job in the world now - you could come under fire from anyone.

2. Hell yes, it'll be difficult...

Between the guerillas and us, there won't be an Iraqi policeman left pretty soon...

I have to say, though, we are far more effective at killing them than the guerillas. One guy? We got what, eight? In just a few minutes, too.

3. Eventually you will have to have
an American soldier standing behind every Iraqi.

4. Maybe we should outsource Iraqi law enforcement
to Halliburton!
