Eye Flight: Iris Scan For JFK Passengers
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/38159.htm

International travelers will soon be able to zip through JFK Airport with the blink of an eye.

The airport will be home to a new pilot program that uses high-tech eye scans to speed pre-registered passengers through security and customs checkpoints.

"Our vision is to enhance our security and facilitate the legitimate flow of trade and travel to and from the U.S.," Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge announced yesterday in the Netherlands — a country that has used a similar eye-scan program since 2001.

1. "Minority Report" became the future
In that movie Id was via eye-scans -- people entered stores and were welcomed by name after their eyes were scanned.

Soon everyone will have a huge data-bank -- DNA, eye scans, finger prints, all medical records. Anyone without the above info will be considered a potential terrorist and be treated as such.

2. This is all so BOGUS
They could use fingerprints
but the trouble with those is that they are too difficult to fake.

In the 1983 James Bond movie Never Say Never Again, a villain gains access to the United States' nuclear arsenal by foiling a presumably fail-safe passkey system -- a scan of the president's right eye. This, of course, left the dapper British secret agent to set things right and save the world.

This whole thing is being set up by a bunch of Diebold-type crooks
who want to leave a loophole to commit their nefarious misdeeds.

3. is this safe?
What are the risks to vision? If you get scanned a lot, might you have increased risk of cataract?

Any safety testing of this product whatsoever?

Some of us fly monthly, others weekly. Some airline workers are obviously flying every working day.

We should be informed of the health risks of these procedures.

I take it the fingerprints they were collecting didn't work so well for catching the bad guys?

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.
--John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-72
