Powell Demands That Abbas Stop Palestinian Terror
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBS6ZH1Z3E.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - Faced with a sudden setback to Middle East peace prospects, Secretary of State Colin Powell insisted Friday that new Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas bring under control terror groups that are killing Israelis.

"He's got to get those terrorists under control," Powell said after six Israelis were killed in a bombing and shooting attack at a Gaza crossing. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon responded by cutting all contact with Abbas.

"I hope that's just a temporary breach," Powell said in an interview with Michael Reagan on the Radio America Network.

The terrorists are not going to destroy Israel. "It's not going to accomplish anything. It hasn't accomplished anything," Powell said.

2. Powell, first tell Bush that
The historical city of Fallujah is gone, along with its people and long long history. Bush gave the order.

Tell Bush to stop his terrorist actions first. Then you can bully other countries.

3. AMEN !!!
No one's listened to him going on years now, not even his own team.

Powell, how clueless are you? Shut up! You blew it: you could have exposed Bush Inc., but you blew it instead!

6. While I am not anti-Israel
and I think a good 75% of all the blame lies on the Palestinians, Abbas hasn't even been given a chance yet. No one can fix a problem like that in 10 years let alone a week.

7. Like the Optics...
and objective reporting...

killing Israelis not an attributed quote

"Powell said after six Israelis were killed in a bombing and shooting attack at a Gaza crossing"

The cowardly Palestinians attacked a 'military target' and the dead were uniformed soldiers...

In retaliation, the brave IDF launched a missile destroying a 'civillian' hospital...

But then again, that dastardly Abu Mazen said the Israelis were 'Zionist terrorists' in an election speech, only hours after the IDF killed 8 Palestinian boys, oldest 15, who were picking strawberries and olives...

Yeah those Palestinians are certainly unreasonable, Abu Mazen should have 'declared'in his election speech, a pre-emptive strike and told the world, 'your're either FOR Israel, or Against Israel' and then lie shamelessly.

12. Yes,
If you'd like links, just ask. The original tv reports I saw yesterday said the victims were all military, but the papers today corrected that.

13. The only civilians at a checkpoint would be the people
going across to go to work in the Israelli occupied areas. Can you provide even one reason why an Israelli civilian would want to cross over to the other side.

18. Well, as our troops in Iraq would say
too bad, civilians crossing at checkpoints are fair game, shoot at will.

Seems like warfare is played the same awful way, no matter who the players are.

11. So, lame-duck Powell demands that they stop...
that'll sure get them quaking in their boots.

After all, they must be really worried about what he'll do to them if they don't!

Mr Powell, please, PLEASE just shut the fuck up and go the fuck away. You told us you were quitting, so just QUIT already.

20. has any U.S. official ever demanded Israel end its occupation of Palestine
I mean atleast give them back their roads so it can seem like a real country. How can you have a security force responsible for stopping terrorism when the Israelis won't let the Palestinian security forces leave from one town to go to another.
