Family of Four Found Slain in N.J. Home

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - A couple and their daughters - their bodies bound and gagged and their throats slashed - were found slain inside their modest two-story home early Friday. Grieving relatives described the four victims as a religious family with ``no enemies.''

Police broke down the front door of the family's house after relatives said they had not heard from them for several days. There were no immediate arrests.

WNBC-TV in New York reported authorities were investigating whether a former tenant who had had a dispute with the family was involved.

Apparently the father, and to some extent, one of the daughters were strongly religious and outspokenly anti-Islam. The father was threatened in an online forum, and the threat may have been carried out by a member on the board.

No proof yet, but if it's true, the implications are very frightening for all of us who are outspoken and stand firm in our beliefs on internet forums. You never know which nutjob is going to make good on his threat.

There's another thread about am Alabama woman who killed her 12 year old daughter for having sex. Despite the fact that the article on the story has almost no details, there is a rash of posts blaming fundies, southerners in general, and Al From and the DLC, and immediately calling for the death penalty. Being a southerner, my blood boiled over a bit, and I fired off the irrelevent post above, which makes no sense to anyone but me. Sorry about that. I'm usually more respectable than that.

How some people can call themselves Democrats and show exactly as much tolerance and reason as Republicans, though... Sorry, doing it again. I'm going to eat now, and mellow a bit.

This is a strange article, with the chat room stuff. Freeper supply sites are claiming that this involved torture, and that everybody's throat was slashed "just like on 9/11".

How do we know that it was a Muslim?

How do people know about the chat room, and if they did, why weren't authorities called?

Now, the FR is saying that the media is making no effort to report this, and that this is being misrepresented by the MSM. My only question, if this is true, does this constitute the hard proof that we dread about the failure of the homeland security changes? What does this mean for all of us?

The FR is shitting themselves over this, and so am I, but for different reasons. This is their excuse for the next glasnost, but it confirms my fears that Bush has utterly failed at Homeland Security.

Police are looking for motive. There's the claim that none of the jewelry was taken, so it wasn't robbery. But the father, wife, and two daughters were all killed, no report of sexual assault. Stabbed, at least one had her throat slashed.

Not robbery; not sexual violence. Could be a deranged killer. Could be personal. Could be something that nobody's considered. Check every lead. That includes the possibility it was some Muslim fundie pissed off because a Copt dared to diss his one true faith.

And it's not like there are no Muslim/Copt tensions.

Every so often Fox, Rush and Hannity pump up a crime story into a Muslim story even when no such tie exists because they need to put a fire under their followers' hatred.

Fox and right wing hate radio will blare this Muslim hatred aspect for a couple of days and then will drop the whole issue. Right wingers will forget that there was no tie, but their hatred will continue on burning bright. Good little bushbots that they are.
