Senior US lawmaker vows to make WTO obstructors pay
WASHINGTON (AFP) - One of the most powerful US lawmakers, Senator Charles Grassley, vowed to identify nations that derailed global trade talks in Mexico, and make them pay.

"Let me be clear," Grassley said in a statement after a meeting of World Trade Organization (news - web sites) ministers in Cancun, Mexico, collapsed Sunday, riven by a deep North-South divide.

"I will use my position as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over international trade policy in the US Senate, to carefully scrutinize the positions taken by many WTO members during this ministerial," Grassley warned.

2. Like Repo Man on an immense scale
Bud: . Makes you wonder how much they owe. Most of them are on the run. Don't even use their fucking social security numbers. If there was just some way to find out how much the motherfuckers owe and making them pay.

Otto: Jesus Christ bud. They're winos, they don't have any money. You think they'd be bums if they did?

Bud: You want out? Do ya?

Otto: No!

3. Is Grassley from Iowa?
Iowans should be very disappointed in this dope... from the same state as Harkin? WTO blows. US Senator wants to impose laws on people who don't agree with him: what's new.

4. anyone who thinks the WTO is a force for good..
just needs to take a look at Grassley's hysterical fit when the developing world asked the US to abide by it's own guidelines on farming subsidies.

7. It is precisely this kind of dictatorial attitude ...
that leads oppponents to mistrust the WTO in the first place.

Thanks for proving our point, Sen. Grassley.

8. More fascist threats...
They keep it up, and it'll be more than ME terrorists coming after the U.S. We've pissed off the entire world. The people of *this* country are going to pay a very, very, high price for such pompous, fascist threats. Again, I wonder if we will make to the election, before these bastards destroy this nation .....?

:grr:

9. You already punish these countries with your trade policies
you ignorant fuck.

And then they're going to turn around and ask some of these same countries to support their request to the U.N. for help in Iraq.

10. Busheviks LOVE their punishment
Bet when A$$cru$t molests little boys he explains to them:

1) It's their fault...he is A$$croft, Republican and therefore morally superior.

2) That he is the instrument of God punishing them by penetrating them.

11. They've already paid.
They've been devastated by the one-sided free-trade policies already: e.g., Mexican corn producers, pushed out of the market by subsidized corn from the U.S. Grassley just wants all Mexicans to be making Iowa tortillas.
