" US should “move aggressively” to get our troops out of Iraq, says Hinchey

Congressman Maurice Hinchey, a staunch opponent of President Bush and the war in Iraq, said yesterday the U.S. should “move aggressively” to pull out of Iraq.

Hinchey said the circumstances in Iraq are not getting any better. “The situation there is unsustainable; we’re dealing with an insurrection now which is tantamount to a civil war,” he said. “The information that the administration is giving to the Congress and the American people has been shown to be completely false, all the way from the rational behind the war to the circumstances that prevail today. Those circumstances are becoming increasingly difficult.”

Hinchey said he hopes the elections come off as planned at the end of the month, but he has his doubts."

1. "Unsustainable" Now there's an operative word.
Bush has already built negative capital in Iraq. We will be dealing with the hatred of their orphans for generations.

2. Yep, now that we destroyed the place
we can just say sorry but it's time to go now. Onto big and better countries to destroy.

At the least, we should attempt to convince the UN and/or NATO to go into Iraq with real peacekeepers and help the Iraqi people rebuild their country.

Bush wants another $100 billion for Iraq. If we gave every Iraqi adult $1 mil each and got the hell out, they would all be much better off.
