Soldiers 'abused civilians'

By Patrick Sawyer, Evening Standard
18 January 2005

Three British soldiers went on trial today accused of abusing Iraqi civilians.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at an Army base outside the southern city of Basra.

The charges include claims that Iraqi men were forced to simulate sex acts with each other.

One man was said to have been suspended from the prongs of a forklift truck. It is also claimed that prisoners under the control of the soldiers were forced to strip naked and another prisoner was beaten.

1. There are no such thing as civilians in Iraq.
There were civilians before we invaded...but now that they're fighting us they've all become "terrorists" and "insurgents".

2. That is the truth
And we know this from the state of Israel, who are our buddies in the "War on Terror".

The sad fact is, after the collapse and disintegration of Iraq, many people over there are turning to the insurgency. One must ask us, at what point does it become recognized as a resistance movement? What percentage of the people over there constitute general opposition to the United States? When will we have to admit that the people of Iraq really don't want "America" over there?

3. "what point does it become recognized as a resistance movement?"
It never will...at least not by our Govt.

They don't admit mistakes....simple as that. this will continue a long as the american people have no say in who we pick as our leaders.

4. More of the photos at the BBC

including one of 2 men forced to simulate anal sex while giving a 'thumbs up' sign. Disturbingly reminiscent of Abu Ghraib.
