Gay rights group to run Bush attack ads

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON -- While visitors to the nation's capitol celebrate the start of a second term for President Bush this week, a gay rights group is televising a warning about the next four years.

(snip)

"The president is about to take an oath, and we've seen a pattern during the first term of a President Bush whose rhetoric doesn't match his record," Human Rights Campaign spokesman Steven Fisher said.

Fisher said the ads - which will appear on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News - are meant to "reach visitors in town for the inaugural, members of the administration and everyone who cares about fairness and equality, to make sure they understand his record."

The ad shows Bush expressing support for equal rights and saying he does not hire or fire people based on their sexual orientation. Then an announcer says Bush opposes equal rights for gay couples and that 1,500 military members have been separated from the service for being gay.

8. That's a good question
Apparently, pointing out the rather obvious fact that Stupidhead's high-flown rhetoric doesn't quite match up to his scummy little actions is now to be regarded as an attack on His Bushiness.

11. I think the MSM has labeled this story in such a way that...
...they will look like they are not supportive and are only running these 'attack ads' because it is the 'fair and balanced' thing to do.

13. what would you call them?
They're apparently not supportive of him. You can attack someone with facts.

and as someone said, aren't we a few months too late with these ads?

9. just because the fraudulent election is over and we got screwed again ...
doesn't mean we quit fighting and being pains in the asses to the neocons.

Good for these people. Fight on! Speak out! Shout! Before the next layer of patriot act bullshit shows up.
