Former homeland security nominee Kerik to attend Bush inauguration
http://www.boston.com/dailynews/018/wash/Former_homeland_security_nomin:.shtml

Immigration problems with a former nanny may have sunk his nomination to become the next secretary of the Homeland Security Department, but it won't stop Bernard Kerik from attending President Bush's inauguration.

Kerik, who in December withdrew his nomination, has been invited to the ceremony Thursday and a private party being thrown by his old boss, former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Kerik's spokesman, Robert Leonard, said Kerik and his wife will travel to Washington for the ceremony and related parties. ''Bernie and Hala are both excited that they have worked out logistics and they both look forward to being there Thursday,'' Leonard said.

Kerik, who led the New York Police Department's response to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, was an energetic booster of Bush's 2004 re-election effort. The former military policeman and undercover narcotics detective was nominated in December to succeed Tom Ridge as head of the Department of Homeland Security.

1. Immigration problems with a former nanny?
There's a laugh. Who has the list handy?

He ought to be in prison. The wheels of just grind too slowly.

2. Wonder if HE'S allowed to look at * directly??
What about all the repugs in the "audience?" Will they have to avoid looking directly at * while the pretender's oath is being administered?

26. From the above link
"Parade performers will have security escorts to the bathroom, and they've been ordered not to look directly at President Bush or make any sudden movements while passing the reviewing stand.
...
Other instructions given performers include a warning not to look directly at Bush while passing the presidential reviewing stand, not to look to either side and not to make any sudden movements.
"They want you to just look straight ahead," said Danielle Adam, co-director of the Mid American Pompon All Star Team from Michigan, which also performed in the 2001 inaugural parade."

As they used to say in the cowboy movies, "Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt." Update that to, "Nobody looks, nobody gets hurt."

It will be tough for some of the worshippers to not look at their demi-god, though.

nice to W still consorting with known criminals. I'm surprised Ken Lay is going, but then again no one said he isn't.

and has contributed at least $250,000 to the "festivities".

After all, the Bushes are long-standing friends of his.

23. Yes, and they dare to call US "loony"??
Both George Bush and his father have long been tight with Rev. Moon... and they (through their minions) dare to call those who oppose the Bushes "the loony left"?

Just more of their Orwell-speak!
