Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 12:33 PM by Worst Username Ever
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- The Indonesian Health Ministry said Wednesday that the December 26 earthquake and tsunami killed 166,320 people in Indonesia, jumping the regional death toll for the disaster to 212,611.

The Health Ministry said 6,245 people were still missing.

Sorry if dupe. I haven't been in LBN for awhile.

1. Well, I guess this will make Condi smile
Cause this would be an even bigger "wonderful opportunity".

That number is just staggering. I can't even imagine that kind of number.

2. Bush treats this as something that happened to other people
and the vast majority of the victims were local people. However, I think there were many more Americans killed in the tsunami than on 9/11. Why has this become the invisible disaster as far as American involvement is concerned? Other countries received their dead with symbolic ceremonies and we haven't even acknowledged ours.

3. I know the Muslims want our troops and our charities to leave
the food, water, medicines, money, whatever has been contributed; however, they want all Americans out within 3 months at the most and they started counting when the tsunami happened.

They don't trust our President or our military.

I wonder what he is going to do next to alienated us from the rest of the world?
