Elite NPA assassins target George Bush?
Elite NPA assassins target George Bush?

THE communist New People’s Army has deployed at least 50 of its “elite, highly trained” troops in Metro Manila to carry out an assassination assignment on US President George W. Bush, who is scheduled to visit the country on October 18, military sources said.

Requesting anonymity, the source said the deployment began as early as August “to establish an intelligence network” that would relay information and details to the NPA chain of command about Bush’s eight-hour visit.

“Their first assignment is to link up with front organizations and, from there, share intelligence information so that an effective assassination plan would be established,” the source said, declining to identify the front organizations.

1. This about the only way the Republicans have a chance to win in 04
Pull a JFK. Poppy and Bar probably have given the go ahead on this, "because Jeb was the smart one, anyway."

People, we all better hope that W survives until 2004.

5. What, Jeb's going to run?
The REpuglians just don't have anybody that's got any appeal to the "common man". Jeb Bush? Dick Cheney? Can you see either of these guys getting "middle class" votes? come on. McCain is the only credible Republican candidate. And the Bushes won't want to give him another shot at the Presidency.

Of course it might be the billionaires club that's getting a little worried about him. Starting to hear rumblings.

If W pulled a JFK, even Cheney could probably squeak out a victory.

9. I've been saying for some time that 'martyring' Dubya ...
... would put a lock on '04 for the GOPigs. He's expendible. They know it. He's far more valuable to them as a martyr. It probably takes more staff time to handle his NPD 'strings' than any other job in the White House.

21. That was on my list.
I've felt the powers to be must have some powerful ace up their sleeve for the 2004 election (just in case they don't gain control of enough voting machines or enough of the media). I felt the same way before 9/11. Making Bush a martyr was on my list of possibilites. They have his brother (with a very good looking hispanic son) waiting in the wings.

I've noted a renewed assault on JFK via JFK bashing books and the discovery of "new" scandals (for example, he had an affair with a young intern). On the other hand, they are trying to rename everything in honor of Ronnie boy that they can (ignoring the cost to the taxpayer).

I can't think of another puppet from that crew that could be the front man.

serious drug addict. And Americans are awakening to what a misserable failure bu$h II is now.

They're reportedly going to use the Iraqui "Weapons of Mass Destruction" smuggled into Manila expressly for this purpose...the missing Goree votes in the 2000 selection.

3. This story is a total fabrication and a lie by the authoritarian Arroyo
This is another pathetic attempt by the increasingly authoritarian President Arroyo so ingratiate her sorry ass to Bush. Arroyo's government reeks of corruption, not surprising coming from a government that came to power by means of a coup.

This story is a total fabrication and a lie by the authoritarian Arroyo. The NPA are freedom fighters that want to boot out of power the 200 families that control most of the wealth in the Philippines.

The NPA could care less about a single pendejo in Bush's ass, much less his sorry life. This is another of Arroyo's many lies.

Arroyo is nothing but a pig!

6. What happened to the "terrorist" bomb story?
Remember the troops that mutinied saying that one of the "terrorist" attacks was perpetrated by some of their military leaders as a pretext to get US troops into the country? Whatever happened to that story?

17. The US media doesn't want anyone to follow that story...
<snip>
What is more disgusting than the possibility that a government would kill its own citizens to boost U.S. support? The possibility that the U.S. government is helping in the plot. In an incident that has not been reported in the U.S. press, an American citizen, Michael Meiring, injured himself after blowing up a bomb in his hotel room. Two men who identified themselves as FBI agents plucked Meiring out of the hospital and flew him back to America. Klein writes, "BusinessWorld, a leading Philippine newspaper, has published articles openly accusing Meiring of being a CIA agent involved in covert operations "to justify the stationing of American troops and bases in Mindanao."

19. Philippines military blocks mutiny testimony
The government of Arroyo blocked the mutineers from testifying about the "terrorist" attacks staged by high ranking military officials in order to bolster President Arroyo's call for dictatorial powers for herself, and as a pretext to sidestep Constitutional provisions that keep US combat troops from the Philippines.

Philippines military blocks mutiny testimony

Military officers who allegedly led a coup attempt against Philippines President Gloria Arroyo will not be allowed to testify in public hearings on the failed revolt, due to security concerns.

A presidential spokesman, Ignacio Bunye, says the government will also ask congress to suspend its public inquiry on the mutiny, involving about 300 soldiers on 27 July.

He says legislators should allow a government-backed independent commission of inquiry to carry out the probe into the circumstances that led to the rebellion.

Mr Buyne denied any attempt to muzzle the five alleged ringleaders of the mutiny, who have been detained at military headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo.

Lawyers have accused the government of silencing the men by preventing their testimony before congressional hearings.

4. Sheesh! He wishes...
I like how they use the word, 'elite'. Yeah, only the best for the shrub. Past Presidents have been targeted countless time by assasins, but did they run to the press about it trying to drum up some sympathy EVERY SINGLE TIME someone threatened their life? No. The bushistas are SOoooooooo pathetic.

15. Anyone else think it's weird that...
Edited on Tue Sep-16-03 04:02 AM by BullGooseLoony
...if it happened it would be only about a month from exactly forty years since Nov. 22nd, 1963?

On edit: I only really mention it cuz I read a book called "Generations" that said the US goes through a four generational, about 80 year cycle....good book, by the way. Definitely worth at least browsing.

18. we're supposed to believe this
so, these 'elite' are out there broadcasting their plans? sure.

funny thing is, the repukes wanted to get Clinton (and notice Monica lived at the Watergate) to have their own dem impeachment to offset Nixon.

and now...what...they want a repuke martyr, like JFK?

it sounds too bizarre to be true, but then again, these are the same people who thought creating acts of terrorism on American citizens to justify an invasion of Cuba made sense.

They never used to be - kept very quiet - by the Secret Service. Now we see them announced rather frequently in newspapers. Now, why would that be?
