Russia calls on West to give up 'double standards' against terror
http://www.deepikaglobal.com/ENG4_sub.asp?newscode=89662&catcode=ENG4&subcatcode=

Moscow, Jan 19 (UNI) In an indirect attack on US and European countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today urged them to give up the policy of ''double standards'' to fight against international terrorism and extradite suspected terrorists to the countries demanding them. snip

''Our cooperation with Syria is extensive, comprehensive and it includes military and technical cooperation. We have never violated international commitments or supplied weapons that could destabilize the situation in conflict regions,'' Mr Lavrov noted.

Commenting on the US president George W Bush’s statement about a possible settlement of the Iranian nuclear problem by force, he said that it can be resolved by peaceful means.

''I am sure that the Iranian nuclear problem can be solved by peaceful political means,'' he said, adding ''I refrain from speaking even hypothetically about the situation that might occur if anyone resorted to non-diplomatic ways of solving the problem.''

3. The world listened yesterday and this morning..
to the SOS hearings...and when our democratic senators stood up and spoke out...they responded. Today there have been responses by Venezuala, Russia and Cuba...and all are responses to those hearings and what was said. Cuba came out with accusations of abuse of prisoners at Guantanamo, Venezuala came out telling the USA to not interfere with its country...and now russia standing strong on Iran. We can thank those strong senators who spoke out for these many strong responses.

4. If Russia was not readying Iran for war, you can bet they will now
The message is clear: don't mess with Iran.
My guess is, Iran/Russia have already armed Iran to the teeth.
I think US intelligence on Iran is pert near useless.
Iran and Russia are talking loud and proud because they are ready for us.

8. I think Russia will just stay behind the curtain
I also think they are going to really put it to us.
Iran has the soldiers, Russia has the weapons.
We have fucked with Russia one too many times.
I suspect they have their little eye on Iraq as well.
Once the Iran/US mess begins, it won't be Russia's
fault that the all new shoulder mounted SA18
rocket launchers manage to find their way from Iran to Iraq.
RPG, say hello to SA18.

10. Russia is most likely arming Iran.
There will be no direct involvement of Russia if GOD FORBID a HORRIBLE war starts.

permission of U.S. Senators in order to express themselves?

6. Big deal, he really never said anything...
He failed to state what he really should have said...Russia can sell weapons to Syria and the US should butt out and what if Iran had a nuclear program? The debate seems to be about whether or not Iran has a nuclear program, not that Iran, or any other free sovereign country, should be allowed to have one.

18. Well not so.
If Putin openly displays his anger to wards the US "invading" Iran I'm not so sure he would push forward if the threat becomes too great. If you haven't noticed Bush hasn't been taking on any states with a substantial military force. Not to mention one such state with backing from possibly two a nuclear powers.

23. So, what's next?
There's another thread about Cheney telling the Israelis "Keep your mitts off Iran; it belongs to us.

Now Vlad the Inhaler is telling bush "Keep your mitts off Iran, or else."

Oh, fuck.

It might be time for me to forget about moving my family to Canada, and start thinking in terms of the Southern Hemisphere.
