US tries to remove climate change references in UN disaster talks

KOBE, Japan (AFP) Jan 19, 2005

The United States, which opposes the Kyoto protocol on global warming, is trying to remove references to climate change in UN talks aimed at setting up a disaster early warning system, a US official said Wednesday.

The US has voiced objections to "multiple" references to climate change in drafting documents for the global conference in Kobe, Japan on disaster reduction, said Mark Lagon, deputy assistant secretary in the State Department bureau of international organization affairs.

He said the United States believed climate change was a "well-known" controversy and that there were "other venues" to discuss it.

...

US President George W. Bush rejected the Kyoto protocol on global warming after he took office in 2001, saying it would cost US industry too much.

1. It's only a controversy in their little pea brains
Man, these guys do *not* miss a trick. We're gonna have to get better at playing offense on multiple fronts simultaneously.

3. It's so easy because they all think the exact same way
If we cannot start doing the exact same thing we have no chance.
Democrats have to come together. Pick ten issues and
memorize the mantra and work toward that goal until you get what
you want. Never give up. Keep on pounding. If we cannot do it, we are surely done.

2. More junk science
by John Marburger and Leon Kass.

Not content with driving manufacturing and service jobs "off shore" (thank you N. Gregory Mankiw), the White House purveyors of "No Global Warming" junk science are driving "earth science" (meteorology, geology, oceanography) jobs to Japan and Australia, and the White House purveyors of "Intelligent Design" (including "Stem Cell Research Is Abortion") junk science are driving our bio science jobs off shore.
