Contamination of airplane water has worsened, EPA says
this is disgusting!!! This can't just be a new thing ....

:puke:

DALLAS - (KRT) - Bacteria are still showing up in the running water aboard the nation's airliners, even though carriers promised to flush and disinfect their water systems every few months.

In fact, the results are looking worse.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that coliform showed up in 17.2 percent of 169 randomly tested passenger aircraft, up from 12.7 percent of 158 planes in August and September.

The EPA cautioned passengers with compromised immune systems to drink only canned or bottled beverages when they fly. Travelers also might stay away from tea or coffee, unless they're made with bottled water.

refuels rather than when it gets it's 3 month inspection? Then again, they couldn't make money on their short term monopoly on bottled water if they had drinkable tap water.

Sorry, but the big corps are in the wrong here. No matter how unpleasant the concept may seem to you.

Glad I rarely ride on airlines. We only carry bottled water on our planes. (And I'm not even all that sure IT's clean)...:eyes:

6. Ice cubes would also be a problem.
So for people who avoid "tap water", they should remember not to have ice with bottled drinks.

12. I drink only beer when I'm on a plane
I gave up on gin & tonic after the first revelations of contaminated water. I don't want to consume the ice.

13. Sister-in-law worked for the airlines 10-15 years ago.
She wouldn't drink that water saying it was filthy. So if it was bad back then, with the relaxing of all rules under this fascist regime it must be really bad now.

BYTW She's a right wing sheeple of the worst sort, and I no longer speak to her.
