Gala's snub is no obstacle
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/10685955.htm

Donning tuxedos and determination, 24 board members of the Cuban American National Foundation waltzed Wednesday night into an inaugural-eve gala for which the group's offer of sponsorship had been rejected.

In the face of the snub, board members said they decided to buy individual tickets to the ''Grand Hispanic Gala'' held at the fabled Willard Inter-Continental Hotel just two blocks from the White House.

''Did you ever doubt we'd be here? We're here to celebrate democracy,'' said foundation President Francisco ''Pepe'' Hernandez, who flew in from Miami. ``We believe that there should be all kinds of opinions represented here.''

Then the Miami Herald, as usual, puts forth a lie..
The foundation said it was told that the institute could not accept money from nonprofit organizations.

This is from the report on Tuesday, http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/10668990.htm
''The bottom line is their money was not taken and it's not because they were a nonprofit, it's because they're not welcome'' Díaz-Balart said.

(I refuse to subscribe to the MIami-Herald).

3. that was a threat. i hardly think they intended to carry it out.
every cuban that i know living in miami and in puerto rico voted for bush, continue to be strong bush supporters, refuse to listen to any truth telling about bush and forget that many of their parents went from Spain to Cuba to escape the Francisco Franco dictatorship, and that they themselves, many of them, have familye and/or friends who were killed by the bloodiest cuban dictator ever: fulgencio batista...
they even forget what repression was (is and can be) like.
