WASHINGTON (AFP) - Angry protesters jeered and railed at President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s inaugural parade as his limousine rolled past, whisking him to another four years in the White House.

Armed with signs reading: "Guilty of War Crimes" and "51 percent is not a mandate," thousands of protesters turned out throughout the capital to voice dissent, as Bush supporters countered with cheers to usher in his second term.


Though the demonstrations were peaceful -- mainly booing of Bush's motorcade and marches and rallies -- about 50 anarchists tried in one incident to push past security checkpoints and advance toward the parade route, but were pushed back by police.

the one group I caught was dressed in black and held up signs over theri heads that said LIAR. The camera scanned the crowd quickly, but the protest was clear as they were seen turning their backs one by one. I was watching C-Span, so no commentary. There were SO MANY protesters that they did not stand out. The people with the flag-draped coffins were quite visible as well.
