Jan 21, 3:33 PM (ET)

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iraq's interim defense minister said on Friday the government would arrest Iraqi National Congress leader Ahmad Chalabi after the Eid al-Adha holiday for allegedly maligning the defense ministry.

"We will arrest him and hand him over to Interpol. We will arrest him based on facts that he wanted to malign the reputation of the defense ministry and defense minister," Hazim al-Shaalan told Al Jazeera television, adding the measures would start after the Muslim holiday which began on Jan. 20.

1. Democracy is alive and well there
I bet Bush is jealous he couldn't arrest anyone who criticized the war during the campaign.

2. I hope so
Oh, how I'd love to see that bastard nailed. He's already on the lam from convinctions in Jordan (I think it's Jordan), and I'd love to see him extradited - if such a thing exists between those countries.

Won't Fuckface and his neocon thug Oval Office squatters rush to help out their great informer and patriot and source of everything that was a lie that helped our kids die in Iraq?

The neo-cons won't like this. Their boy is going to be perp-walked.

4. So, why are they giving him a head's up?
Sounds like he'll have plenty of time to make his getaway. I'd suggest they really don't want to arrest him that much.

12. Oh yeah, that's right
I mean, I can't tell you how many times I've been invited to sit behind the First Lady by the White House during the State of the Union address, even though I have no personal relationship with the President whatsoever.

Got so tired of it, I finally had to change my number, but those scamps at the White House are sure a persistent bunch!

14. Chalabi's nephew, the stooge they had as a "judge"...
...presiding of Saddam's hearing, is wanted for murder in Iraq!

What a crew PNAC has assembled.

It blows my mind that Americans follow pro sports, soap operas, Scotty P., and the Jacksons, but know jack about this stuff.

17. Bushco bailed on Chalabi a long time ago.
They will tout this as evidence of their sincerity and desire to get at the "truth"

:puke:

and the MSM will give them a pass on it.

19. My take on the neocons vs Chalabi is that
Bush, Inc. has only created the APPEARANCE of having bailed on Chalabi to enhance his credentials with the Iraqi people (who hate our guts).

Chalabi is the candidate of the Shiite majority and will probably win the premiership on Jan 30.

He is still the neocons man in Baghdad. His win in the elections will be greeted with much phaux "consternation" in Washington, but Bush, Inc. will "try to find a way to work with the elected govrnment of Iraq, etc., etc." Chalabi will, after an appropriate delay, begin to deliver the oil wealth of Iraq to Cheney & C.

Remember, we have passed through the looking glass, and nothing is as it appears.
