FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


1 Soldier Killed, 1 Injured in Accident

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- One AH-64 Apache pilot was killed and a second injured in a training accident that occurred northwest of Kuwait City around 2 p.m. today. The names of the Soldiers and their unit are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The unit is currently in Kuwait as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The injured Soldier was medically evacuated to a U.S. military hospital and is in stable condition.

The accident is under investigation.

1. KIA and wounded
For anyone who's interested, this won't likely be included in the KIA list and neither soldier will be eligible for a Purple Heart.

If there had been no Iraqi Freedom these guys wouldn't have been there, but since the report now is that no enemy fire occurred these guys do not count.

Remember the soldier who just had his Purple Heart taken away? They won't make that mistake again.

This misadministration HATES the soldiers! That is why they twist these reports into total BS! I wish ameriKa would wake TFU to it.

Shouldn't they be "trained" already?

Well, it's OK because it was an "accident." I'm not going to bother my beautiful mind with it.

4. Flying skills are very perishable
Pilots have a minimum number of hours they must fly every month.
