Iraq attacks spark Allawi warning

Interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iraq Iyad Allawi has said it will be impossible to provide full security for this month's parliamentary elections.

Mr Allawi said the measures being put in place were not enough to prevent all attacks by insurgents.

He was speaking after two more suicide bombings apparently targeting Shias killed at least 25 people on Friday.

1. This election will be worthless...
Regardless the outcome, the losers will not accept it (due to the numerous anomalies that will most likely spring from the security issues).

An exercise in futility...

4. Allawi-puppet
If Bush wanted a remote chance to have an elected official be accepted he would not allow Allawi to run. Bush proved how powerful incumbancy was by be "winning" the last election

7. But why would things be any better
six months or a year from now?

I don't see what postponing the vote accomplishes.

They need to have the election as best they can, and get the US out as quickly as they feel they can.
