Bush vows to push war on terror
January 24, 2005

WASHINGTON: US President George W Bush on Saturday pledged to keep waging war on terrorism in his second term in office, and underscored his drive to spread freedom worldwide.

“We remain in a war the United States will continue to lead: fighting terrorists abroad, so we do not have to face them here at home. We will strive to keep the world’s most dangerous weapons out of the hands of terrorists and tyrants,” Bush said in his first weekly radio address since his inauguration Thursday. “And our nation will stand by the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq as they build free and democratic societies in their own lands — because when America gives its word, America must keep its word..

“In the years since I first swore to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution, our nation has been tested. Our enemies have found America more than equal to the task,” Bush said, evoking the September 11, 2001 terror strikes.

“In response to attacks on our home soil, we have captured or killed terrorists across the Earth. We have taken unprecedented steps to secure our homeland from future attacks, and our troops have liberated millions from oppression.” The president added, “Our security at home increasingly depends on the success of liberty abroad. So we will continue to promote freedom, hope and democracy in the broader Middle East — and by doing so, defeat the despair, hopelessness and resentments that feed terror.”"

The State Department indicated on Friday that Bush’s inaugural speech, promising to work to spread freedom, was a continuation of policy that involved no double standards and did not herald new military action after wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. “I think the president made clear it was not something preceded by force of arms, but rather it’s something ... to encourage and support movements toward democracy throughout the world wherever we can,” spokesman Richard Boucher told reporters. Though he has suggested that he has a political mandate after winning the tight November 2 election, a USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll out on Wednesday gave Bush a historically low 51 percent approval rating. And 49 percent of those surveyed believe the president is a unifying force, while 49 percent believe he is more a divider than a uniter, it found.

3. In a sane world this guy would get a one-way ticket to a place that had
padding on the walls and he'd be gettin his drugs at regular intervals throughout the day. Instead, he's turned the asylum over to the crazies and he wants to drug the rest of us.

Bizarro world for sure.

just at the wrong location.

The more he talks, the more screwed we are.

4. Sick bastard. Met a soldier who thinks this is a totally righteous war
He's a real simpleton. Believes everything out of Bush's mouth. Has to go back to Iraq for the third time next fall and he's looking forward to it.

Totally conned by Bush. Fundies are such easy targets for these evil con men because they take everything on faith, no matter how absurd.

That this guy is addicted to killing and he's needs a fix?

There is no other logical explanation to looking forward to war.

19. YES, he is a killing machine!
The only ones he wants to keep alive are the unborn. After that it's fair game, just like his hunting fetish.

Hitler used Christian beliefs to serve his purpose also.

8. can POPPY and JUNIOR get their act together?
Poppy said of junior's coronation speech, "People want to read a lot into it -- that this means new aggression or newly assertive military forces," former President Bush told reporters during an informal visit to the White House briefing room. "That's not what that speech is about. It's about freedom."

Now junior is reiterating that which POPPY seems to have denied.

12. Have you ever been
invited over at some friends where a particularly obnoxious, and not very bright, 4 year old is allowed to stay up? The little guy parades around, overly excited, babbles about everything under the ecstatic eyes of his parents, yells, interrupts, climbs on the tables, kicks you in the shins? This is gonna be a long evening...

16. bush on Saturday said blah blah blahblahblah blah blah blah; blah blah
blah blhablah. Blah blah TERRA blahblah, blah blah TERRA TERRA blah.
Blah TERRA blah TERRA TERRA blah blah blah.

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they put THIS:

Though he has suggested that he has a political mandate after winning the tight November 2 election, a USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll out on Wednesday gave Bush a historically low 51 percent approval rating. And 49 percent of those surveyed believe the president is a unifying force, while 49 percent believe he is more a divider than a uniter, it found.

What a very POLITE WAY of pointing out that in fact bush is just a BIG FAT UGLY LIAR. :)

18. funny how that reads
"We remain in a war the United States will continue of terrorism abroad, so we do not have to face them here at home. (as no corporate
media will scrutinize the BFEE terrorists) We will strive to keep the world’s most dangerous weapons only in the hands of terrorists and tyrants,” Bush said in his first weekly radio address since his inauguration Thursday. “And our nation will stand by the terrorists of Afghanistan and Iraq as they build free and democratic societies in their own lands — because when America gives its word, America must keep its word..

All you need to do to get the truth is swap around the intonation so
the neocon lie is exposed.

20. Excellent BBC series showing that "Terrorism" was a neocon creation
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 11:00 PM by BushSpeak
Don't know if this was posted at the time, but the BBC just re-ran a 3 part series last week entitled - "The Power of Nightmares". The original series was qualified as a "seismic event" when first shown in Oct 03.

"In the past our politicians offered us dreams of a better world. Now they promise to protect us from nightmares.

The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares.

In a new series, the Power of Nightmares explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion."
