President Clinton part of national convention's NY delegation
New York-AP

Former President Clinton will be a New York delegate to the Democratic National Convention next year.

The state's party chairman Denny Farrell said national party rules call for all members of Congress, all members of the Democratic National Committee from New York and all former presidents and vice presidents to be automatic delegates.

That means Clinton and his wife, Hillary, can both go to the convention in Boston next summer as so-called super delegates from their adopted state. Hillary Rodham Clinton is New York's junior senator. ---

The bulk of New York's 287 convention delegates 154 of them will be elected at the state's March 2 presidential primary. Another 86 will be selected at the state party's convention in May.

1. I could have told you that
Delegates are:

2. State-level at-large delegates selected proportionally in primaries, caucuses, or party conventions.

3. Pledged Party Leaders and Elected Officials selected the same was as the at-large delegates.

4. Unpledged Party Leaders and Elected Officials
a. Members of Congress
b. Governors
c. Former Presidents and Vice Presidents
d. Members of the Democratic National Committee
e. Former Chairmen and Secretaries of the DNC
f. Former Speakers of the House and Senate Majority/Minority Leaders

2. Yup, no surprise
George Mitchell is one of our delegates for that same reason.

Our 2 Congressmen, Governor and former Governor, being male means there's more chance for a woman like me to be a deleagate since we have to have a fairly even split. At least that's my plan. :)
