US to take Australia's nuclear waste

A deal with the United States has taken the pressure off the federal government to urgently find a site for a nuclear waste dump, the national nuclear agency said today.

Environmentalists and community groups forced the government to abandon plans for a waste dump in South Australia during last year's election.
