US to take Australia's nuclear waste January 21, 2005 - 8:24AM A deal with the United States has taken the pressure off the federal government to urgently find a site for a nuclear waste dump, the national nuclear agency said today.
Environmentalists and community groups forced the government to abandon plans for a waste dump in South Australia during last year's election.

$20 bucks says it winds up in a "Red State".
Voting against self-interest seems fairly rampant among the Reds... it'll be sad to see it happen, but I'll laugh just the same.
