Security Beliefs Shape Political Attitudes -Pew poll
...An analysis of public opinion trends released Monday by the Pew Research Center found the shift to national security issues from a collection of domestic issues that were critical in determining party loyalty in 1999.
...
* Three-fourths of Democrats say good diplomacy is the best way to ensure peace. A third of Republicans agree with that statement.

* Just over half of Republicans agree with the statement that the best way to ensure peace is through military strength, while one in six Democrats agree with it.

* Two-thirds of Republicans say the use of overwhelming force is the best way to defeat terrorism. In a separate question, two-thirds of Democrats say overwhelming force creates hatred that leads to more terrorism.

3. For now, perhaps.
But unless they get everything on their wish list there's gonna be hell to pay. Plus, I just don't know how long the gop can exist with these parasites sucking the life out of the party. Something's gotta give.

4. It just amazes me ...
That people still swallow up all that handfed bullshit. Our greatest security threat is Bush himself!

5. Fundies Win/Christians lose
No where does Christ tell you to threaten and beat your enemy into submission. He says just the opposite.

6. How many of those asked have ever served in the military?
Now ... How many of those pro-war Republicans enlisted or actively encourage family members to serve, given the belief that "the use of overwhelming force is the best way to defeat terrorism"?

Too bad these patridiots don't realize you can't "defeat terrorism." It is an idea, an age-old guerilla tactic ... effectively used by the founding fathers of their own country.

7. Until someone, somewhere, somewhen, can muster the guts
to tell the American public that there IS NO WAR ON TERROR we will continue to get these silly bullshit polls talking about how frightened and pathetic the Americans are. The war on terror is a ridiculous farce and no one will stand up and say so! Even the Democratic politicians dutifully toe the line on the "war on terror". There are small groups of desperate renegades who are trying to carve out a politico/religious niche for themselves and their followers and they have a genuine hatred for the West. They should be dealt with in the international criminal law system that is in place (and it could be improved). But this "war" bullshit is just a means to an end for the bastards that control it. Sorry for the rant...
