OTTAWA - The City of Ottawa wants the federal government to pay the more than $4 million in extra security costs racked up when the U.S. president visited for less than 24 hours in November.

... Ottawa Coun. Herb Kreling, who chairs the police services board, said the city has asked the federal government to pick up the tab, as it did after the G-20 summit a few years ago.

"There is no reason to doubt that the federal government would pay this. We have a history of this with the G meetings. So we're submitting that for the federal government to pay."
