7 Killed in Pre-Election Violence in Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=736&e=1&u=/ap/20050127/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

<snip>

"Six Iraqis and one U.S. Marine were killed Thursday as insurgents clashed with U.S. troops and blew up a school slated to serve as a polling center, pre-election violence that followed the deadliest day for U.S. troops since the war's start. Another U.S. soldier died in an accident.

The Marine was killed and four others wounded when insurgents launched mortars at their base near Iskandariyah, about 30 miles south of Baghdad.

Australian officials announced that one of two car bombings on Baghdad's dangerous airport road Wednesday had injured eight Australian soldiers riding in a convoy escorting Australian government officials.

On Wednesday, 30 U.S. Marines and one Navy sailor died in a helicopter crash in bad weather in the western desert, and six U.S. troops were killed in insurgent ambushes. That made Wednesday the deadliest single day for Americans since the Iraq war began nearly two years ago."

1. There was an American convoy attacked yesterday as well.

perhaps it was one of these two mentioned. No casualties were reported in the photo caption but at least one US vehicle was destroyed. When all is said and done in Iraq the deaths will far exceed what they are admitting to now.

Fuck bush**

5. I believe...
...there were thirty-seven US deaths yesterday (31 in the helicopter crash and 6 elsewhere), and two US deaths so far today (1 in a mortar attack and 1 by accident).

7. Hope their families know it was "worth it"......
because the Iraqis just love us. Oh, yeah. They're throwing flowers and kissing the ground we walk on. They're "liberated." That nasty Saddam is gone. Life is soooooooo much better under US occupation.

Now, where's the oil?????

8. They're ignoring the crash
31 dead and they're pretending it didn't happen, doesn't matter, was just an accident.

Peter Jennings last night came right out and said that the crash doesn't matter because it was an "accident." They saw a helicoptor fly into a cloud and then a flash of light, so apparently they instantly know it was just an accident.

12. To encourage Iraqi voting, maybe W should
rent a van so that he, Laura, and the girls could drive folks to the polls.
