S Korean minister quits in US row
South Korea's home affairs minister has been forced out of office in a bitter row over relations with the United States.

Opposition politicians accuse the minister, Kim Doo-gwan, of failing to stop a demonstration at an American military base last month.

Mr Kim submitted his resignation more than a week after losing a no-confidence vote in the national assembly.

Members of the conservative opposition said he had not done enough to prevent a raid by students on a US firing range in August.

1. Bitter debate
<Mr Kim was caught up in a bitter debate between those who support a strong alliance with the US and those who see the Bush administration as the cause of conflict and tension with North Korea. >

Now why would they think that?

2. hey teryang...
I dunno how closely you've been following Korean politics lately (i know you got plenty of political problems back home), but the GNP has been doing nothing but partisan politics since Noh was elected. I think that Noh went to bat for Kim Doo-gwan, but to no avail.

And what the hell was this minister supposed to do about 12 protestors climbing over the tank? Seriously. You gotta wish conservatives would start feeding oxygen to the grey matter.

I'm not up on the ins and outs of current Korean maneuvers but this is ridiculous. Thanks for the additional insight.

Hak seng dul mi goon tanke ta saw yo. Sang gwan op saw muh? Kun iri anayo.

As long as no one was injured.
