Ex-Enron exec's widow gets apology (lost pics of "suicide" investigation)
http://www.mysanantonio.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D87SEEU01.html

A former Enron executive's widow has received an apology from Sugar Land city representatives.

That was after the Houston suburb was found in contempt of court for losing photo negatives from the investigation of Cliff Baxter's suicide.

His widow, Carol Whalen, had been in a legal battle with city and state officials as she fought to block the public release of documents and photos from the investigation

After Baxter's suicide, investigators found a note written by him at his residence. Media representatives had asked that it and other documents from the case be released under the Texas Public Information Act. The state Attorney General's Office ruled in April 2002 that the note and the bulk of the police report were public and must be released. Whalen then sued in Travis County and a judge granted a temporary restraining order.

3. I'd LikeTo See A Book Written On This (Several Links)
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 11:13 AM by Dinger
Baxter's body was moved from the pavement back to the car.
It (car) was visible from his home.
His family situation was a happy and stable one.
Coroner had history of screwed up autopsies.
Baxter was 2 weeks from going before Congress and blowing the whistle.
Rat shot is something that make it vitrually impossible to do ballistics testing on.

These are just a few things I remember from past articles. Sorry, no links (yet).

Baxter was murdered, or "suicided," period. Like Margie Schoedinger... Sugarland is DeLay territory.

4. OUTRAGEOUS.
looks like the widow got her payoff, though--since she was fighting to keep everything secret.

good old Texas police work indeed.
