3 SLOW TO GO (CBS News execs haven't quit, they've hired Lawyers)
http://www.nypost.com/gossip/38884.htm

January 27, 2005 -- THE three CBS News execs asked to resign earlier this month over the embarrassing Memogate scandal still haven't quit. Instead, they've hired lawyers. Unlike veteran producer Mary Mapes — who was fired outright for using bogus documents in a George Bush-bashing Dan Rather report on "60 Minutes" — the three were asked for their resignations. CBS is still waiting. Sources say Josh Howard, Betsy West and Mary Murphy are no longer coming into the office and could be threatening wrongful dismissal lawsuits as they negotiate severance packages. A spokesman said, "CBS refuses to comment on speculation."

3. Get a lawyer who will take the case on a contingency fee
bring CBS more bad press that it doesn't want, and *payoff.*

5. We've got to start showing these people who are finally standing up
for their rights (and by implication, OUR rights), our support. I encourage a few emails just to say something like, "Hang in there." or "The content was true! It is the CONTENT that really matters!"

9. I support them. I don't think they should be forced to resign.
I hope they win. Who should resign is CBS's owners for groveling to the Bushies.

10. Why do they keep calling it a scandal? It was a "miscalculation."
That's the ticket, guys, you didn't make a mistake. Borrow a page from the bush administration handbook and call it a "miscalculation."

And furthermore, the real scandal is the truth within those memos. I don't care if truth comes to me in the form of a 3-legged mangy dog. The truth is the truth. This whole memo fiasco drives me up a wall.

14. CBS doesn't need to fire anyone
over memogate. Bush never did come out and refute the underlying premise of those memos. I think the coward was afraid to say anything because there was some truth to the memos and he thought it would get ugly if he did.

CBS should stand tough until other so called news sources punish staffers for airing "Shitboat Veterans"! Everyone knows those idiots lied but Faux and others aired them like news.

19. It was all true isit.
Even the secretary to the guy who "purportedly" wrote the memos said even though she thought they were forged all the information in the documents was absolutely correct. The repukes kept screaming about the source so everybody ignored the content.

cards. Great. It lawsuits can make headlines, then it's all free press for us. This is good news.
