By CURT ANDERSON, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - The possibility that al-Qaida or its sympathizers could gain access to a nuclear bomb is the greatest danger facing the United States in the war on terrorism, Attorney General John Ashcroft (news - web sites) said Thursday.

U.S. officials "from time to time" uncover evidence terrorists are trying to develop nuclear capability, Ashcroft said without providing any specifics.

"If you were to have nuclear proliferation find its way into the hands of terrorists, the entire world might be very seriously disrupted by a few individuals who sought to impose their will, their arcane philosophy, on the rest of mankind," he said.

THIS IDIOT IS BASICALY TELLING US THE NEXT 911 IS GOING TO BE A NUCLEAR BOMB GOING OFF. I GUESS BUSH AND COMPANY ARE BUSY TARGETING A US CITY

when I have a funny line. I saw "arcane philosophy" and the bells went right off.

I guess old John is a little too close to the problem of arcane philosophies to be able to help fight al Qaeda, though. Must be why he resigned.

fear their death unlike any others. After the towers and the pentagon they feel personally targeted. Good on you Ashcroft. Many of us have lived in fear and even died for the benefit of you and your kind.

Be brave Ashcroft. God will protect you.

19. Amen to that...
We all know Bush loves to put "fear" into the American people. Has he said anything about this yet? This would be a good reason to go to war again or possibly get into every other country' business because, of course, it is OUR responsibility. In the end, we will be all alone at this rate...

Crazy, destructive, blood-spending, profitteering tyrants!!!!

Until these power-pukes came into power, I was an advocate against the death penalty. They have convinced me to make the same exception I would for Mussolin or Hitler: plan to execute them,...for the rest of their miserable lives!!!! Then, when they are dying,...give them NO DRUGS,...just a gun.

7. The neocons are doing this:
...the entire world might be very seriously disrupted by a few individuals who sought to impose their will, their arcane philosophy, on the rest of mankind...

And what is this?

U.S. officials "from time to time" uncover evidence terrorists are trying to develop nuclear capability, Ashcroft said without providing any specifics.

More imagination? Wishful thinking?

My sources collaborate the fact. I heard it from the Easter Bunny who heard it from, the Tooth Fairy, who heard it from a Leprechaun that al-Zarqawi told him that bin Laden said so.

Are we supposed to revere and adore Ashkkkroft because the threat of crime and terra has been elimiated?

Or are we supposed to cower in fear because the terra-ists are seeking nukes (no details provided)?

I'm torn.

9. and you guys thought bush was satan
"The president understands that this is almost mission impossible, to keep winning every day," he said. "To be always the winner and never be the loser is a very difficult task. The world is not absent terror. But the United States has been absent terror."

His greatest failure, Ashcroft said, was in not fully explaining to the American people early on just how the Patriot Act has helped in that war. Time will prove that the law has not been the threat to the Constitution seen by some, he said.

"Rights have not been infringed. Human dignity has not suffered. It's been enhanced and it has not carried a cost or toll on the civil liberties of America," Ashcroft said."

---------

bush is an idiot savant of satan, ashcroft is higher up on the satanic food chain.

43. Buy duct tape and plastic sheeting.
Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 11:52 PM by NYC
Bunkers are no longer required. Duct tape will save you. (Tom Ridge said so.)

No, of course you can't share their bunkers. But, if you think about it, you wouldn't want to anyway. :)

If we suffer a nuclear attack, I'll have to take the duct tape off the elbow pipe under the sink. I'll be environmentally correct during Armageddon by using recycled duct tape.

and plastic sheeting, of course, if Ridge said so. You're quite right, I think I'd rather not share their bunkers - I hadn't given it enough thought. Now that I've thought about it:

Anyway, IMPEACH Bush! Who's with me?

47. Does anyone remember the Reichstag fire?
Where the Nazi's used a trumped up "terrorist incident" to declare a state of national emergency and impose martial law in Germany.

Tommy Franks, the retired Army general, has stated that martial law will be declared in the U.S. if America gets hit with a WMD by terrorists. So there is your scenario for a complete neo-con takeover.

"...It is clear that the Nazis immediately took advantage of the situation in order to advance their cause at the expense of civil rights. The Decree enabled the Nazis to ruthlessly suppress opposition in the upcoming election."

Let's hope it never comes to this...

I liked this at the top of the webpage:

"They who will not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Recent events raise ghosts of the past."

This sucks!
