Bush 'in over his head,' Democrats' poll finds
Hardly "Late Breaking News" for most of us here, but it's nice to see that the rest of America is noticing.

Bush 'in over his head,' Democrats' poll finds

By Stephen Dinan
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Nearly half of Americans say President Bush is "in over his head," according to a new survey by Democracy Corps, the polling and strategy firm founded by James Carville and two other key Democratic strategists.

Mr. Carville, Bob Shrum and Stanley Greenberg told reporters yesterday that not only is the post-September 11 boost for Mr. Bush over, but the president is arguably in worse position now than in the summer of 2001.

I think this should be the new, oft repeated meme: Bush is in over his head. I also think that particular point would move Americans to choose carefully this year, to ensure that they get someone who can really handle the job.

Lost his brain. it apparently eloped or wandered away. Others would say it was never there to begin with.

2. and this is being reported in the Washington Times, The Moonie Times,
that is the best part of this. Not only Dems, but the repukes also know he is in over his head, but they will never admit it.

3. No wonder Kerry said on MTP
that Bush was the same guy he was in college, a likable guy, but still hadn't changed.

I thought that was an interesting portrayal of someone who just skated through college with no serious pursuits getting by just on being liked. That's no leader OR president.

4. The Repukes will cover for him.
They covered for Reagan for years. Everyone in Washington knew that he was no rocket scientist. Several reported that he was very intellectually challenged. They did say he had an instinct for good publicity.

They are covering for Bush too. He is the puppet as we all know.

5. Should W be "in over his head," the greatest danger lies in those
who advise him. Look at what has transpired, look where the neocons pushing their PNAC dream have taken us: the proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

8. I agree
Make it a key talking point. Bush is in over his head.

It is less offensive to the ear than Bush is an idiot. Hey, everyone has been in over their head. It's okay, sometimes the best pitcher needs to be pulled after five innings. It happens. We'll just bring in someone who can clean up the mess.

The economy. Bush is in over his head. All the tax cuts, the recession, he just wasn't really prepared for it. That's okay, he tried, we can bring in someone who has the skill for job creation and set things straigh again.

Iraq. Bush is in over his head. Most likely got some bad advice from PNAC people. That's okay, he got the ball rolling on this whole War on Terrorism thing, we'll just bring in somone who has the skill for handling all those pesky details. Bush really is more of a big picture guy, time for someone to come in and work at the fine details.

MidEast Peace. Bush is in over his head. He really thought if left alone, Israel and Palistinians would work it out. That's okay, we'll bring in someone who has the skill and ability to wade into the thick of it and work out some peace agreements.

It's a great meme because it doesn't look like you are attacking Bush.

11. Vicious character
xchronm, I agree completely. This guy is crazy like a fox. Comes across as the dumb goofy frat guy while behind the facade is a whole 'nother story. Ann Richards warned the Dems long ago not to underestimate this guy. She was right then and she's right now. The Repukes LIKE to have everyone think that Cheney et al are pulling the strings...it perpetuates the "prez as nice guy" front they want to project. Makes it easier for the sheeple to vote for him. And as for not "attacking" Bush...that's what got the Dems in trouble in the first place. THis business of DLC, nice-guy, don't bash the prez, Repuke-lite crap has GOT to go. It's time to take the gloves off and fight these people on their own level.

14. Somebody should jump on this one!
"Bush is in over his head" needs to be on a bumper sticker. Even thinking (?) repugs might give such a message the nod.

Democrats need to hit the bush team hard, with jokes, America needs to see these individuals for the pathetic idiots they are, and the best way is with humor.
