Clinton Speaks Out on Recall, Presidential Race (GREAT QUOTE!!)
President Clinton (news - web sites) took the stage in Monterey with his former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta on a day when state and federal politics were close to boiling over.

--snip--

This is the kicker:

"It would be hard if the U.N. were running it -- Halliburton might have to bid for their contracts," he said.

Bwahahahahahahahahaahahah!!!!

1. oh no, he didn't!
(I hate to bring out a tired line like that, but it's worth it for the Haliburton quote!)

5. Ain't that the TRUTH?
WHY do you think the White House is SO reluctant to share control of any UN operation in Iraq?

Because sharing control means LOSING control...

Of the OIL!

"Come over and die alongside our cannon-fodder, but no, we are NOT cutting you in on a share of the spoils. this is OUR party!"

7. the article says Clinton left office in disgrace????
I must have missed something. He left office with a 60 plus percent approval rating and a country grateful for the economic good times. The country overwhelmingly supported efforts to keep Clinton in office during impeachment. How was he disgraced?

11. Irritated the crap out of me too...
...I sent the following email:

"Dan Rosenheim
News Director
KPIX/KCBS

Dear Mr. Rosenheim,

I just finished reading Tony Russomanno's article entitled "Clinton Speaks Out on Recall, Presidential Race". In my opinion, Tony was doing quite well until he wrote the following comment: "Bill Clinton left office in disgrace...".

Really? Did I miss something? The only thing disgraceful about Clinton leaving the Presidency is the fact that Gore wasn't allowed to follow him.

So, now we have the Resident Select illegally squatting in the White House and Mr. Halliburton staying at an undisclosed location while continuing to collect fees from his former company. The economy created by the rightwing of the GOP continues to slide into depths uncharted since the Great Depression, and we're fighting a war in a way that should NEVER have been attempted.

At what point do the Less-Than-Dynamic Duo declare martial law and declare that the 2004 elections are postponed? Have you thought about that for a moment?

Please tell Tony to stick to environmental issues and leave the journalistic heavy lifting to those writers that actually have a clue.

If you actually read my email all the way through, thanks for your time."

17. Shit! I know Tony Russamanno! He should know better.
It's been a long time, though. Time enough for somebody to be enticed over to the dark side... Oh well. Otherwise, Tony's been pretty great.

10. When asked if we went to war for oil...the common response is...
"There isn't enough oil to benefit the US"....the truth is...WE American citizens won't benefit...but boy do Halliburton, Bechtel and B&R benefit.

The question needs to be asked in a different way to get the truth.

14. Left office in disgrace???? WTF

I am so sick of this right wing media...

---------------------------
Bill Clinton (news - web sites) left office in disgrace, but he returned to California warmly received by Democrats who believe, for the first time in years, they have a real chance at regaining the White House in 2004.
