Baghdad's Green Zone Is Center of Infant Democracy
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=worldNews&storyID=7476250

~snip~

"I'm happy because that is the first time we've had an election like this, when we can choose the person we want freely and without fear," said 26-year-old Firas Alyas, one of the Green Zone's many Iraqi contractors.
"I could vote without fear because it's completely fortified."

Mukhlas al-Mudafa, another contactor in the zone -- which houses the U.S. and British embassies in the former palaces of Saddam and his sons -- was equally enthusiastic.

"When we voted in the past, there was always a man watching us and asking us what we had written," he said. "But today I chose with my full freedom and nobody affected that choice."
