Bill Won't Rule Out Run By Hil
Bill Won't Rule Out Run By Hil

(CBS/AP) Bill Clinton refused Wednesday to dismiss speculation that his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., might still mount a run for the White House.

"That's really a decision for her to make," he said at a forum in Monterey, Calif., when asked about rumors that she may enter the crowded Democratic field, according to The Californian newspaper.

Mr. Clinton added that New Yorkers have encouraged Sen. Clinton to run despite her promise to complete her six-year Senate term.

"He's clearly not discouraging speculation that she could be in the race in 2004," former New York State Democratic chairwoman Judith Hope told the New York Daily News. Hope is close to the former first lady but is backing Howard Dean for president.

3. easy answer
Because every time they discuss the possibility of Hillary running, it stirs up their base, and brings in more money.

4. that makes sense lazarus
I kept wondering why, if she's said she won't leave the
Senate seat, her name keeps coming up.

5. Republicans lie so easily that they just think everyone does.
They feel because it is standard operating precedure for them to lie, everyone must do so. They are LIARS and want to smear everyone else with the accusation so they won't feel so bad about themselves. Also their hatred is so strong they just can't get over it.

6. so Bill is saying Hillary may have lied,
... when she stated earlier that she definitely would not run in 2004.

what on earth is he trying to accomplish by adding fuel to these destructive rumors?

7. Perhaps a little amusement,
Knowing full well that whenever he says something as innocuous as this, it will keep the talking heads, the Reich Wing and a goodly portion of the Left in turmoil for 24 hours.

8. That's all we need
If Hillary runs, the opposition Democratic party might as well hand the White House over to the fascists on an engraved silver platter.

9. Why would anyone assume Big Dog speaks for his wife, anyway?
Do they also think he orders her meals in restaurants? And it pisses me off to no end when Dems (like Judith Hope) fuel the speculative fires by saying such nonsense like "He's clearly not discouraging speculation..."

10. I agree. It seems pretty clear to me that he just said...
"If you want to know her plans, why don't you ask her?" I don't speak for my wife on this sort of matter, so why would he?

11. She's a Senator
Could be Bill figures she can speak for herself.

Another thought here. Bill and Hill are big fans of Clark. Hillary said she wasn't running for president. I guess she wouldn't be a liar on that account if she became Clark's running mate.
