1. I think Bush did it because Carter inexplicably sounded off
earlier in the week against Israel. He essentially said the two sides are equal. Equal? Well, one side ties explosives to their people and then bombs innocent women and children while the other side goes after military targets in response. You decide who the terrorists are and which side we should be supporting.

2. military targets?
Uh, yeah, right. And just how does Israel attack "military targets?" Using weapons manufactured by whom?

Thats like saying the US only hit military targets while attacking Iraq. How many civilians were killed? Tens of thousands I believe?

And do tell me, how are the Palestinians supposed to defend themselves against Israel? Perhaps if the United States was kind enough to provide F-16 and Abrahams tanks to both sides the suicide bombings may cease to exist.

3. I'm sorry, but bombing a school bus full of little children
in Jerusalem is in no way justifiable...under ANY circumstance. Would you not agree?

4. I would entirely disagree
Israel has created the world's largest prison camp.
They have absolutely no regard for the value of
Palestinian life.
If Palestinians had gunships, they could attack
military targets. They do not.
They MUST retaliate where ever and how ever they can.
You call them terrorists, I call them freedom fighters.

6. No. Freedom fighters don't kill busloads of children.
Evil criminal thugs do that. Israel has killed innocents, sure. But nothing as egregious as singling out a school bus of kids for destruction. People who do that will line the gates of hell.

10. That's easy to believe
when you HAVE the tanks and planes and warships and missiles, when your people aren't being dispossesed and starved, when bombs don't fall out of the sky apparently addressed to "To Whom It May Concern".
Perhaps after your house is bulldozed, a wall is built between you and your livelihood, and you watch your own children die of Israeli bullets, perhaps that bus-load starts looking not as sacred as all that after all.

5. I agree
that killing innocent civilians on either side is wrong. But please don't say that Israel only destroys military targets. NPR recently had a piece where they talked to a Palestinian store owner whose business was destroyed even though he had nothing to do with terrorists. He wasn't quite sure why it happened, except that maybe the Israelis wanted a wider street. He was not warned, and never compensated. Another NPR report told of two Palestinian women who were literally blown apart by a tank when they went to pick olives on the land their family had worked for generations. Theses are only two incidents that come to mind.

Every time either side kills innocents, it only makes matters worse. More people wind up steeped in hatred.

In the Bible, it says "Vengence is MINE, sayeth the Lord." In the 99 Beautiful Names of God in the Islamic tradition, one name is Avenger. The meaning of both these passages is that GOD is the one to exact vengence, not man.

7. Darn that Jimmy Carter!
How dare he inexplicably sound off like that! The nerve of him! What does he know about negotiating peace in the Mideast? Treating both sides as equals...what a dastardly concept. How can the US fairly mediate if we treat both sides as equals? It's insane! :eyes:
