Hil(ary) run looks like no-go Bill backtracks, says decision made
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/118945p-107093c.html

Take two: She's not running.
That was the latest word from Bill Clinton's camp yesterday, after the former President hinted that his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, might be considering a presidential run next year.

He surprised Democrats by telling a California audience Tuesday that when it comes to questions about his wife's possible candidacy in 2004, "That's really a decision for her to make."

<snip>

Yesterday, the former President's spokesman issued a one-line statement that tamped down any suggestion that Clinton was thinking about running.

"He has said it is her decision, and she has decided," said the spokesman, Jim Kennedy.

1. Good. I think Hillary is terrific, but it's not her time yet.
After a Dem gets in next year, maybe the polarization of American politics will subside somewhat. Then she can run.

4. I agree
In another 4 years, as time goes by, when Hillary goes to make her move, all the Hillary CLinton haters will sound like cynical hatefull people (which they already are).

It can only be better for her, plus we need her as senator right now.

5. He says it's his wife's decision to make and MSNBC
does a ten minute segment on what it means. Then he says she's already decided, and it's called backtracking. And then they turn around and claim that the Clintons are desperate for attention. I think it's the rightwing stations that are desperate for something hateful enough to keep their viewers happy and fill airtime.

9. Hey, I'm not in politics and my husband doesn't speak for me...
I make all my own decisions....so what's wrong with that? But since it was said by President Clinton, the republican paid pundits turn it into something negative. If he would have said, 'she's not running,' the nazi pundits would still say negative things.....like, Clinton puts his foot down on his wife's career....Clinton is jealous...Clinton doesn't respect his wife or women in general..Clinton doesn't believe in women's rights to choose...etc. etc. etc. Thousands of attacks would still be madeup against the Clintons.

The republican paid pundits and so-called newspeople (millionaires) want to continue enriching themselves by using the Clintons. Those nazi newscasters are just licking their chops, drooling over the fact that Hillary might run, and the bushes will have a chance to make the campaign all about Hillary and not on the real issues destroying this nation, caused by little man bushie and his nazis.

14. The pathetically stupid freepers
and wingers only have to hear her name and they start throwing money at the RNC...they are being duped by their own party in order to raise money and they fall for it every time. I can't believe they remember to breathe.

6. This whole thing was typical repuke spin to attack the Clinton
How the quote, "That's really a decision for her to make," was somehow spun into - Hillary might be considering a presidential run next year - is beyond me.

If the media can, in any way, attack the Clintons - they will - regardless of the veracity or not.

This is why I don't think a Dem will be elected in '04. The media will not let it happen. If you read Franken's book, especially Chap 7, you will understand why I say this.

7. I saw that a comment he made supposedly fueled that speculation
and when that the comment was "That's her decision," I couldn't believe it. Talk about media misinterpretation!

11. Shit yeah..
You should have watched Fox last night. I flipped on to Hannity and Stupid for a minute and it was pathetic. They spent 20 minutes talking about (Hillary).....Like the 10 running are not enough for them to demonize...

16. Ahh, but the media only comprise, maybe, 1/4 of 1% of the electorate...
Of course, given what happened in Florida last time, that could count for a lot...:eyes:

No, the media whores don't want it to happen...but WE can MAKE it happen...and enjoy their frowns on Election Night! :D

B-)

13. I've seen the word "backtrack" twice today
in our glorious, impartial media. Just a coincidence, though, surely.

17. Hillary Has Great Ideas But....
I would love to see Hillary win the Presidency but unfortunately
I believe that she would lose. First, nearly all males would be against her because she is a female, secondly, females do not tend
to vote for other females(remember, Farraro?) and thirdly, conservative hate-ignorant-dimwitted talk radio would tear her to
pieces. Limbaugh, Hannity, Boortz, Reagan etc would bring up her
private life and business dealings and in their frenzied, right-wing
extremist small minds spread this viciousness over the airwaves.
Democrats have no backbone when it comes to debating these thieves of the airways. Democrats could sling it back, but I know of none who have the nerve to talk back to the radio demons!
