Putin Won't Send Russian Troops to Iraq
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030920/wl_nm/iraq_russia_dc&cid=574&ncid=1480

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin, preparing for a summit with his U.S. counterpart, was quoted as saying Saturday that Russian troops would not serve in any international force in Iraq.

"In a practical sense, there is no question of sending troops to Iraq, and we are not even considering this matter," he was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.

Russia opposed the U.S.-led war in Iraq, but Moscow has softened its position recently and been open to U.S. proposals for an international force in Iraq under American leadership.

However, it insists U.S. political power should be diluted in favor of Iraqis and the United Nations.

4. Ah, excuse me?
Putin Says Russia May Send Troops to Iraq

It seems that the first story was in error and Herr Rove has notified the WH News outlets of the correction.

Please ignore, disregard, wipe from your memory the previous information that the authorities let slip through the censors.
