New Recall Poll
I just heard this broadcast on TV:

A new public policy institute poll to be released on Monday finds the following (I just heard this, but it's still from memory):

Pro-recall: 53%
Against recall: 42%

This is down from 58% for the recall in the last poll taken by this organization.

As for the candidates:

Bustamante drops to 28%
Schwarzenegger holds steady at 26%
McClintock drops to 14%

No link yet.

2. I'm worried that people who never voted before,
who might not get polled, will vote for Arnie the Termite-Eater.

4. Yeah, he's not doing well
Not that i care about him. The only hope is that the recall fails completely. I think this poll is a little too high in favor of the recall right now--I believe (hope) the tide is turning!

6. I was wondering about that
a week-and-a-half ago the "No on Recall" was at 47% as per the L.A. Times poll -- WAY up from 25% just 6 weeks ago.

7. Do you have any basis for this statement
Other than a reference to an unspecified newsweek article?

The Public Policy Institute of California is a Republican organization?

I'm pretty sure that the PPIC would be surprised to hear that:

Here is their website:

http://www.ppic.org/main/home.asp

and here is a description of the PPIC from an objective source:

http://www.nira.go.jp/ice/nwdtt/dat/1305.html

The PPIC is the same organization that very recently conducted a poll showing Bush's declining support:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/2003-08-21-california-bush_x.htm

Was that also a Republican poll?

I just love it how partisans dismiss news/polls/studies that they don't like with kneejerk accusations of partisanship on behalf of the source.

8. I still think Davis will lose
All this is too little, too late. I do think it will be somewhat close, but in the end I see the Yes on the Recall forces winning between 50%-55%.
