Russia Set to Sign Nuclear Deal with Iran, Irk U.S.

1 hour, 10 minutes ago World - Reuters

By Maria Golovnina

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia, ignoring U.S. concerns, is set to sign a deal with Tehran this weekend that will pave the way for the start-up of Iran (news - web sites)'s first nuclear power plant.

President Vladimir Putin (news - web sites) last week cleared the way for the $1 billion Russian-built Bushehr reactor project to go ahead when he said he was sure that Tehran -- branded part of an "axis of evil" by Washington -- had no plans to make atomic arms.

His nuclear energy chief, Alexander Rumyantsev, was finally due to visit Iran to sign the deal Saturday, crowning years of tense politicking in which Moscow has defended the lucrative project in the face of strong pressure from Washington.

1. No, it irks the neoccons not the U.S. Doesn't irk me,
Anything that irks the neocons is OK by me.

Neocons represent themselves not the U.S. Not in my name!

2. In your name
whether you like it or not. The "creeping coup" which began on Nov. 22, 1963, has been fully in place since Dec. 2000.

Next on the Chimp's list of "things to do as Preznit" is to to bomb the crap out of Iran, no matter who cares anywhere in the world.

Are the Russians playing along with BushCo on this, or not?

If Putin's response to the destruction of the plant is merely polemical, then I'd say yes.

Russia has a BIG stake in its oil partnership with Iran, but not as big as that with the US as an export customer.

Is this just part of a behind-the-scenes realignment of spheres of influence?

What do you think?

6. There will be Russian casualties in the attack
You think the Chinese were mad when we accidentally bombed their embassy during the Balkan war?

Just wait until Russian defense contractors and engineers are killed when we bomb Iran.
