One year later, Bush will sing softer tune at UN
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20030922/wl_mideast_afp/un_iraq&cid=1514&ncid=1473

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - US President George W. Bush faces a tricky task at the United Nations this week when he comes to seek help in Iraq, a year after thumbing his nose at the world body over the war on Saddam Hussein.

Bush will ask for troops and money from an institution he last year said risked becoming irrelevant on the international stage by deciding not to back the US-led invasion that toppled the Iraqi leader.

And, in a speech to the General Assembly on Tuesday, he will tell the international community he has no regrets about going to war.

"I will make it clear that I made the right decision and the others that joined us made the right decision," he told Fox News Channel in an interview broadcast Monday. "The world is a better place without Saddam Hussein."

3. I think UNITED NATIONS (AFP) might want to check this out...
Bush Plans Unyielding Stance on Iraq War in Address to U.N.

(guess it's all in the eye of the beholder :)

snip...

In the speech, Mr. Bush will repeat his call for nations including those that opposed the Iraq action to contribute to rebuilding the country, but he will offer no concessions to French demands that the major authority for running the country be turned over immediately to Iraqis.

"We'll stay on the same schedule" of drafting a constitution and holding national elections, one senior official said in an interview today. Mr. Bush will not discuss a timetable in the speech, but his aides said in interviews over the weekend that completing the process by spring or summer would be, in the words of one, "very ambitious." That assessment is bound to anger European nations that have demanded a far more accelerated transfer of power.

4. LOL
That last little quote in the snippet above sort of belies the title of the article, doesn't it.

He's become positively Pyrrhic in his speeches lately- a size 9 foot in mouth statesman.

Even the Sheeple are starting to look at him and go, :wtf:?

8. Here's Bush's speech (from a leaked draft):
Iraq is screwed up. Never mind how it got so screwed up, that's water under the bridge now. But now that it IS screwed up, it is the UN's job to help fix it. And by that, I mean to give us troops and money so the US can consolidate its power over Iraq without spending too much of our own money and troops. Thank you.

I think tomorrow's speech will be a wash, full of lies and deceit, just like every other word that comes out of his mouth.

And another thing... if he maintains that the WH did the 'right thing', then why are we coming back to the UN? I thought that the were unnecessary, hmmm? Just more bushit, IMHO.

11. The world will be a better place without George W. Bush
Assuming, of course, we have free and fair elections next November. Will there be international observers here to monitor the election? there should be.

13. At least the UN has class enough to listen -
junior wouldn't even listen to Carla Faye Tucker before her execution for murder.

junior did do a good job mimicking Carla Tucker before she died. "I don't want to die"
