McClintock takes aim at Wilson, Schwarzenegger
http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/recall/story/7463290p-8405865c.html

Taking aim at rival Arnold Schwarzenegger's choice of top campaign advisers, Sen. Tom McClintock on Monday called former Republican Gov. Pete Wilson "one of the worst governors in our state's history."
The stinging appraisal of the former two-term governor from his own party came as McClintock warned that Schwarzenegger -- the GOP front-runner -- has not unequivocally agreed not to raise taxes to repair the state's fiscal crisis.

Good to see McClintock taking lessons from "How to Win Friends..."

He just cooked his own goose, and made sure that the conservatives WON'T be voting for Ahnuld.

We're gonna win!!!!!

1. His commercials are much more effective than Arnold's as well
Last night prior to 60 minutes, they ran a NO RECALL commercial which was very good, McCLintock's commercial which might accidentally appeal to moderates, and Arnold's which makes him look like the moron he is.

3. Don't jump to conclusions.
We cannot rely upon right-wingers in order to win. We must:

1. Defeat the recall.
2. Ensure that Cruz Bustamante gets more votes than any other candidate.

Although the "liberal" Pete Wilson GOPers HATE McClintock and despise CA conservative leaders, it is possible that McClintock will sell his principles out. He'd be stupid to do so though. It's not as if even if he drops out the Wilsonites will forgive him.

Also, do not underestimate the strategic threat of someone like McClintock. While Arnie is an ideological neuter, and is politically impotent, McClintock would wage warfare. Arnie wants everyone to "love" him so much that he's less of a threat to progressive interests in the short or long-term.

That said, let's all work hard to defeat the recall and promote Gray and Cruz!

8. What they have in common: AWOL
Yes, it seems Arnie was AWOL too and his spokesman said some stupid thing like how Arnie was young then, bla, bla, bla. Fine, just tell our troop in Iraq to go AWOL and see what happens. I hope McClintock hangs on to the end so they will all lose. It sickens me that television is just a never-ending stream of Arnie. And, why is USA showing his movies?! I thought all his movies were to be pulled prior to October 7. We know Chimp Boy wants Arnie in so he can "deliver the state of California" to his sorry butt. And, as for Peter Wilson being liberal...no way, Jose! He's the one who said poor people didn't love children, otherwise they wouldn't have so many. This whole recall business is telling us our vote doesnt' count so all you in California, vote No on the recall. We should be recalling chimp boy, look at the mess our country is in!

6. I think it's obvious
that Arnie has no idea how to campaign, and McClintock is going to show that to everyone. He's launching broadsides at the Terminator and they're going to take their toll on the poor boy. Arnie simply doesn't know what he's doing. And his ads are so LAME. I saw his ridiculous ad at the gym yesterday--the one where he sits around in a school-like setting, talking to "average Californians." The sound was off, which made it that much worse. He looked like he was lecturing the poor saps. Then a Bustemante commercial came on: man, what a difference. There were several shots of him being mobbed by a crowd; he's shaking hands; people are waving signs; no Prop 54. In other words, it was VISUAL. And it was EXCITING. Arnie's LAME commercial was just that: LAME.

I don't like making predictions with politics, but I will here: Arnie will get fewer votes than McClintock. McClintock can smell blood. He knows there's no substance behind the buff. He'll keep pounding and pounding, and Arnie, in a futile attempt to fight back, will only come off as being LAME. Then the debate will put a few more nails in his coffin, even if he does know all the questions in advance. They're going to gang up on him Big Time, and he will look all the more LAME because of it.
